How can i fix my hoover VT 816D22?

Our washing machine has just stopped washing, the display comes up normally and shows the countdown timer, the drum fills as normal but it does not rotate, there is no sound so I would assume that the motor is not turning, there is no smell of burning and there was no pops, sizzles or bangs, any ideas??
