How can I fix my Dualit Long slot lite toaster model 4PSKU46002?

I have removed the base of the toaster and thoroughly cleaned out all crumbs. I have checked the magnetic catch mechanism for crumb obstruction.The toaster lever will not stay down. The neon light does not come on. If I hold the lever down continually the middle element comes on but the neon light stays off. Both end elements stay off.
Could you please advise me if possible as to why the toaster is not working so the I can purchase new part to repair if necessary.
