Hot iron but no steam and no noise - bin or fix?

Buy a Philips Azur for about £40 but do not bin your defective iron... Buy some Citric Acid from a home brewing shop or from Amazon - mix up a solution enough to fill your MR with about a tablespoon of citric acid - empty it and fill with the CA solution and leave it overnight - see what happens. If it works then keep it as a spare. Citric Acid is good for descaling coffee machines - kettles - dishwashers - washing machines etc and is non toxic.
