Morphy Richards 332000 constantly steaming?

My iron is 18 months old and it is constantly steaming, the steam button doesn't seem to make the slightest bit of difference when pressed (thought it may be stuck on)... not sure what to do? Lots of brown discharge starting flying out of the plate to begin with. Any suggestions, Morphy Richards do not want to know. It's the Morphy Richards - 332000 Power Steam Elite Steam Generator With Auto-Clean.
