Central Locking Problem Ford Zetec 2003?

Hi, our Ford Zetec looks like someone has tried to force open rear door on the passenger side which has now led to a central locking fault. If we slam the door hard it knocks of the red fault light on the dashboard. Is this fixable without a repair to the actual door which may be out of alignment by millimetres?
