How can i fix my Tomtom 500 or 300?

the volume on my tom tom go 300 has gone very low and will not go higher even though it tells me that it is 100% -what is the problem -how can it be fixed ?

i have a tomtom500 when pressing the done button at the bottom of the screen its pressing on the arrow button as if the screen is of set

wow, I was all set to chuck my tom tom as it would not switch on or charge-used paper clip on the reset button/micro button on underside-very hard to see-now it works fine.

I have the TomTom 300. I am starting to have problems with it as it takes a very long time to find a signal and when it does it seems to loose it again, often; Today it took 20 minutes to find a signal and three minutes to loose it.

2 chips have blown inside. You more than likely cannot do the repair yourself as it needs specialist soldering experience as the chips are very very very small. They blew because of either of the following: 1/ you plugged in the wrong charger , most reson is by accidently plugging in a phone charger letting 12v in instead of 5v. ... 2/ A voltage spike came from your car generator or starter motor . 3/ The car charging lead or the mains charger has gone faulty and put out too high a volatge.

Try using the re-set button (on the underside near the front edge) a paper clip will do it - not many people even know it is there.
