It depends on what color the wires are. If you have 8 wires, you should see a Blue pair, Orange pair, Green pair and a Brown pair. If you have these colors, buy a phone jack at any store and connect the wire with a lot of white/little bit of blue to the green post, blue/little bit of white to the red post, white/little bit of orange to the black post and orange/little bit of white to the yellow post. Plug in and test your phone. You should have 4 wires connected which most phone systems use, some systems only use the blue or orange.

If you are in the UK connect ONLY the following wires to the back of the extension socket.. Blue & White to connector 2 - White & Blue to connector 5.
