Old Hoover automatic washing machine WD1100 model A8564?
Fills with water, water heats but drum does not turn and then water drains out through outlet pipe without doing any washing. Don't have manual so don't know how to set controls properly. Is it a control panel thing?
It is the carbon brushes which are worn out or the belt has snapped, very easy to repair and cheap too if it is the brushes, repaired my own machine and I am a women!!!

sounds like the belts come of /snapped
or drum bearings are goosed
