if the diaphram is broken would this allow fuel to run freely when the fuel pipe is disconeted from the card , would this make it slow down when riding
Yes, if the diaphragm had split then fuel would flow as these taps are usually operated by engine vacuum. However, the carb itself has its own needle valve to control its demands so this problem wouldn't slow you up.
