chain saw carburator model "blitz"?

my chain saw does not give gas to the chamber when i let it stand for a while , it take many 30-50 times of pulling the cord in order to start .when i open the tank to put in gas the gas has many small bubbles that fizzle continuosly for a while , i believe it is the carburator other than that it works fine except for a little broblem with the chain oil that does not work also perfectly .
thank you for your help

I have a Blitz 500cc and have owned it for about 25 years. Re the chain oiling problem: I had this problem too. I found that the outlet from the oil tank to the chain pump is covered by a piece of gauze. I got a small globe and soldered it to a couple of wires and then connected them to a battery. When I dropped this into the empty oil tank I could see that the gauze was covered with a layer of hardened sawdust. I made a little tool to scrape this off and then gave it a good wash in kerosine. This fixed the problem.

I now apparently have a big end problem because it won't start and makes a lot of noise. One day I'll pull it down and try to track down the problem. I bought a second hand Stihl 320 and had a lot of trouble getting it started. I found that the choke MUST be closed tight to get it going. Had to bend the connecting wire a bit to make this happen. This is true of most two stroke engines. Hope this helps.

Congratulations on owning a Blitz. You and I are the only two people in the world that have them. A guy told many years back that they are the Italian version of an Olympyk so if you can find Olympyk chainsaw parts (which is difficult now too) your in business. Good Luck!

I'm no expert, but I have a couple of Stihl chainsaws. I have had this problem with the larger one (034). I suggest that you take out the air filter and give it a thorough clean up with petrol and let it dry. I use a small 1 inch brush to clean the sawdust from the outside and do this from time to time on the job. If it is hard to start, I lay it down on its side, chainbar down, for a few minutes. After this I find that it will fire up with a few pulls.

Good luck,

Damanos
