How do I get my Briggs & Stratton 4.75HP started?

I was mowing around a bush when the mower stopped running. My son was able to start it again by pushing in the choke, but it won't start for me. How do I get it started again?

If he was able to start it by choking it there are a couple of things I would do. First is the gas fresh? If not, drain and replace. Remove and clean/replace spark plug. Remove air filter and spray in carb cleaner. If it still won't start, replace gaskets in the card. This is assuming you have good spark.
