Check the coupling on the motor that drives the transmission. It is made of two pieces of plastic with a rubber coupling between three drive dogs. One of the plastic pieces on mine broke.

how do you get at the switch?

I had a similar problem with my 90 series. It would agitate, but on the spin cycle it would just drain the water (no spin). However, if during the spin cycle I opened and closed the lid, it would begin to spin. The end result is that the switch that senses when the lid is closed was bad and needed to be replaced. $25.00 at a local parts store. Its DIY friendly and works find now. Just remember to unplug the washer before you begin any DIY work.
Hope this helps.
