Mend Vax 1700

Ive got a vax everyday 1700, the plug has broken on it?

One of the pins on the fitted plug has broken on the hoover, so ive cut it off & tried to use a normal plug, but it blew the electric. Any advice appreciated.

we just cut the wire and put a normal plug on ours - worked fine

From the UK? Connect the blue wire to the plug neutral (bottom left with the plug back off) and connect the brown wire to the plug live (right hand side with the back off, connecting to the fuse). Fix the earth wire (yellow and green if there is one) to the top slightly longer pin.
