how can i fix/change my '98 explorer fuel filter?

it seems to me that the fuel lines are somehow pressure fitted onto the filter, there are no clips, and no visible way that the filter is held onto the lines. you can rotate the filter, it will spin, but the lines will not pull off of the filter. (1998 ford explorer, 4wd, 4d, v6)

Get a new filter, about 8 inches of gas hose, 4 clamps , and a hacksaw blade. To remove old filter cut steel gas line as close to filter as can on each side. Put a qtip in new filter in end going toward carberator. Cut an inch off new filter on each side. Pull out qtip after cutting. Cut inlet the same way. Put new gas hose on both ends of the new filter with a clamp and tighten. Put in place by hooking to original lines with clamps. PS Have sometime to wip the gas when it sprays in ur face!
