Hygena dishwasher, burning smell?

Hi my name Matt, my mum had the same problem with her hygena dish washer model apl8224 . Its letting water in and draining ,but the pump that pushes the water through the spray arms has stopped working ,so the water just stays in the base and the element starts to over heat this is because the water isnt circulating hence burning smell .The problem is caused by the circulating pump under the bottom spray arm they cost about 130.00 to buy on line hope this helps Matt
