Can I change my clutch cable myself?

I was changing gear coming on to a busy round about and... Ping/Snap!! something went... no clutch. So finally with the assistance of a couple of nice policemen I moved car off the road and little groveling about in my not so clean footwell revealed a snapped cable.

I have a K reg Renault Clio Fidji (think that is about 1997)

can I replace this myself? I'm not afraid of a bit of mechanics but before I start I like to know if what I am expecting is reasonable?

can I find the "how to" online??

every car is different. common sense is to
have a repair manual, for every car you own.
It will show what the job entails, and from
there you can decide if you trust yourself,
or not. It's always worth research for every
reason. If you can't do it, you bring your car
to the mechanic and tell them what the problem
is and what you can't do. That way they can't
get away with ripping you off.

Everybody has an ego. Every mechanic is not
going to want you to be better at his job than
him. Chances are, if you tell him what's wrong,
and admit you can't do it, his ego will kick in,
and he will try to prove his skillfulness by making
it an easy job.

Common sense.

Retarde, that's the clutch! Cables are about £12!! And they are reletively easy to replace. Simply undo the cable from the engine (You will know how just from looking) remember how it went and fit the new one there.. Then trace the old cable towards the bulk and cut it off... Thread the new clutch cable through the bulk via underneath the car and then look under the footwell and fit the new cable to the pedal... It may prove difficult but it is just a matter of trial and error. It may take roughly 3 hours.

Goodbye.

thats not really an easy job takes a trained michanic about 4 hours to do it as you have to really take the car apart and if you dont know wot your doing it might end up costing you more my broke and it cos about 350 £100 for the part and the rest was labour but mine might have been the clutch im not sure...
