Countax C600H lawn tractor - melting fuses but not blowing?

My Countax C600H lawn tractor keeps melting the fuses, but not blowing them. I have checked the brake switch and the seat switch which is where the manual suggests to check. These are both fine. The charging system is also fine. Has anyone any suggestions as to what the solution might be.

I suspect you need to change the fuse holder. Sounds like it has gone HR and is therefore causing a voltage drop and heating up. If you take the fuse out and look into the holder slot it will look dark and corroded. It should be clean or you will get a bad contact.

I have the same problem with melting fuses and I believe it to be the solenoid at fault. The solenoid clicks but does not engage. Prior to this the engine would sometimes struggle to be turned over by the starter at ignition. I will try to post the resolution when I get there.

usualy a bad connection will cause heat and not blow the fuse

I don't really see why the interlock switches would cause fuses to blow...however I have had this problem with a Mountfield tractor, similar in size to the Countax (is yours the one with the splendid Honda V twin)? Anyway this machine would pop the fuse every time I wanted to start up - the cause was a faulty starter solenoid.
