what is f 11?

Oh yes there is!

There is an F-11 error code as its happening on our
4 day old Hotpoint Ultima Washing Machine.

Hotpoint's website gives the following description for E-11 error code:-

E11 - No hot fill.The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.

Given our machine is COLD fill only it's nothing to do with the hot water intake!

There is no error code F11 there is however E11 which relates to No hot/cold fill. Check the water supply, inlet valve and hot and cold hose connections.
