Lawnmower won't start - new gas, new spark plug - Only 2 seasons old. Came with charger for key ignition start or pull string start. Neither work. Can't find manual. This is a Craftsman 6.5 HP Ready Start Lawnmower #917.377070

the starter could be bad even though it is fairly new doesn.t mean it isn't a lemon. I have the same lawn mower and i replaced the starter 1 yr after i had it.

Take the spark plug out, and see if it is wet with fuel. If it is, dry it off and crank the engine over a few times to clear excess fuel from the cylinder. If the plug is dry it shows that petrol isn't getting where it needs to so check that the choke is working properly. Its an old trick to pour a few drops of fuel down the plug hole which often perks things up a bit.
