Hotpoint Ultima WF840 drum grinding and noisy spin?

Hi
We have had our Hotpoint Ultima WF840 'silent spin' for just over 3 years. It has recently started making a lot of noise when it spins and when you spin the drum with your hand it feels like it's running on gravel. Any ideas??
