Mend MTD OHV Start Push Left

my club cadet won't start?

Club cadet OHV push mower. Brand new, used about 7 times. Has been left out in the rain. Changed gas, clean air filter, choke pulls out fine. Starts 97% of the time on the first try but only runs for about 3 seconds after starting. Please help.

Water in the carb float bowl and/or tank. Because it sinks to the bottom, it's not easy to get it all out. Remove the bolt from the bottom of the float chamber and drian it. If there is water present it will appear as 'blobs' in the drained fuel. Just 1 drop will effectively block the jet. Allow sufficient fuel to drain out to be sure that the line from the tank is completely purged.
