Mend Hotpoint Ultima Extra Washing Machine Motor Repair

i have a hotpoint ultima extra, but it wont spin or move the drum around?

i have a hotpoint ultima extra, today it would not spin or rotate at all, so i had a look underneath and found a broken earth wire and a broken live wire that connects with the motor, so i repaired the connections, but it still will not rotate, any ideas??

Check to see if motor will run in either spin or wash mode.
Then check drive belt between motor with the plug UNPLUGGED (we do not need an accidental start up with hands in the way).
Get a helper to turn tub from above and observe to see if the belt will turn the transmission, if trans is good it should turn motor.
Lastly check to see if the linkage moves when the machine changes cycles between wash and spin.
I am also assuming that it pumps all the H2O out.
