Pioneer radio/cd will not turn on in my Renault Espace. What do I do?

I have a Reanult Espace 2002 reg 2.2 dci fitted with a Pioneer radio/cd in the rear of car with controls on steerin wheel stalk and remote control. My car-battery was changed and now the radio/cd will not turn on (as seen on the car dashboard display, it reads OFF). I have no code. Also I cannot do anything until it turns on. What can I do?

when you re-connected the battery, did you turn on the sidelights? If not this can cause a spike in the current which causes the fuse to blow on the back of the radio which is located under the drivers seat. Hope this helps

DON,T know if it helps but my 1998 R Reg did same - don't know if your steering stalk controls are same but mine switched on by holding in the top & bottom buttons on stalk control (simultaneously) for a few seconds

Did you ever solve this? Exactlyylty the same thing has happened to me. I have a 2002 Renault Espace 2.0, changed the battery and now says OFF on the dash. Would appreciate any help if you did solve it. Renault want £76 to take the radio out and check it, then more if anything needs fixing. Sounds a simple problem and it is definitely related to removing the old and fitting the new battery.
