- Press the [ID] code. (the display shows blank)
- Type clerk ID code. (I used 001) (the display will still be blank for security reasons)
- Press the [ID] key. (the display should show [0.00]
I am just posting this for future help in case someone else has this problem.
Also, the code I used to reset is 99, Subtotal, NS

Hi.
It is very hard to find Sanyo manuals as they are poorly supported these days. On most models, E1 means you have not logged a clerk onto the machine before starting. the register is asking who you are.
Try pressing 1 on the numeric number pad, then press the CLERK button. If it doesn't work, someone may have setup secret codes for logon. Then it can be tricky.
Give it a try.
