My imetec iron steams constantly. Does this mean a major ovarhaul? There used to be a distinct 'click' on the steam button which has since stopped and the house is like a sauna when I try and use it now. Help!!!
Hi Did you fix your Imetec steaming problem?
I have the same problem and opened it all up but can't really see where to go from there.

on your iron is a micro switrch. that when pressed causes the solinald on your genrator to click and release steam from yor holes on your iron. when the washer valve inside that solinord fails the clicking stops and you get no steam or constant steam depending on if the washer failed closed or open in the pipe. It has a squarew ore round coil on top of it and a steam knob at the side and electirical plug to the back of the coil. Take the coil offd and change the pipe with the valve. It cost around 18 pounds and screws into the tank. If its an electrical valve than you have to open the generaTOPR AND LOOK FOR AN ELECTRICAL SWITCH i have only the other irons at my business which i am always fixing.
