HOTPOINT 9544 DRUM WON'T TURN?

My Hotpoint 9544 won't turn when washing but it spins ok.
I have had a look at the brushes but dont know if their the problem as they seem to have pleanty of wear left.
I have had the machine over 12 years and bought it secondhand. Is it worth repairing?
