Ideal Mexico Boiler Cutting Out?

My mother has an Ideal Mexico boiler which is old, but in reasonably good nick.

Over the past few days it has cut out several times, but has relit and fired up first time.

Now, the pilot will light, but will go out as soon as the control knob is released.

Any advice muh appreciated
