what shower should i install?

I am currently wishing to replace an existing electric gainsborough non pumped unit, fed directly from a 15mm cold water mains supply, i would like to install a electric unit with built in pump, perhaps a Triton t80 si or t90 si.
Both these units state they should not be fed from a cold mains supply ! my Hotwater cylinder has the cold water storage built in on the top of the cylinder, Fortic tank i am told ? the cold storage part is above the height of the shower just, but would the volume be enough to satisfy the units demand.

Any solutions or alternatives would be much appreciated.

Best regards Trevor

Dont do it Trevor it wont work off your tanks ! Instantaneous electric shower require about i bar pressure approx to make them work. That is the equivelent of moving your tanks up another thirty feet. Not Practical. Consider a specialised problem solving unit like that made by Mira . I think its called the elite. It is an instantantaneous electric shower with a built in pump designed to be fed by tanks. Im not sure but I think it only requires a min head of 80 mm.( thats the vertical distance between the actual shower head and the lowest levl of you cold water tank. The only flaw to this plan is ? because you indicate you have combined /fotic tanks you made not have enough stored cold water. You may have to consider upgrading these before buying your shower

To fit one of these units the cold water tank will need to have 25 gallons min capacity and minimum 8cm head above the shower unit, you will also need to use 10mm cable for the electrical feed, do you suffer low mains water pressure, if not it would be less hassle to fit a good 10.5 kw shower on the mains water feed you already have, just dont forget to check the cable and rcd/mcb size are up to the job/regulations first.
