Mercedes 1994 814 fuel problem?

my 1994 814 cuts out after driving a short way, if i bleed the fuel through it will restart but the problem re-occurs if driven, if i leave the vehicle ticking over it will do so without failure, the only indication of a problem is bubbling in the glass bowl on the fuel pump

Mercedes Vehicles, Lorries/Trucks Fuel Cuts Bleed

Check to see if there is a rubber washer/seal between the rim of the glass bowl and the metal housing. If this seal/washer is missing, air gets sucked into the fuel system and no amount of bleeding will sort it out. It is easy for this seal to fall out and not be noticed.
