I bought a Magnavox, Model 20ms2331, 9 months ago and suddenly i have no power. I do hear a light steady chirping from the back that stops after I unplug it. What could this be? Is there a reset anywhere on the set?
Sounds like you have a short circuit.
The set is trying to start up but detects a short circuit and shuts down again and this repeats until the short is cleared or a specific amount of attempts have been reached hence the chirping noise heard.
The most likely cause of this in most sets are the line output transistor and/or transformer.
