soap door is not opening?

replace the door and spring with a kit from appliance parts shop (app.$16). Easy to remove old door assy. Trick is putting on a new spring. Figure the proper direction, install the pin with spring loosly hanging, snap on door (from almost closed position), then install spring by sliding them to the cnter to catch the two spring ends on the door edge, then slide up the loop to catch the plastic retainer. Sounds harder than it is. Good luck.
