How do I go about chinging the serpentine belt on my 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic? My battery keeps losing charge and I am not sure if its the Alternator or the Serpentine Belt. I am almost positive its the belt, please help ASAP!
Going by my Blazer, I would be almost certain that it is not the serpentine belt, this has a sprung loaded tensioner anf you should be able to test the tension by pushing it on the longest run, It will be very tight.
If the vehicle is hi mileage I would check the alternator brushes and commutator.
