Anyone got any ideas wht my 316 sprinter wont get up to temp? The gauge hardly moves from cold and the heater only blows luke warm even after 20 mins. The gauge does work and there is plenty of coolant. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Sometimes the sprinter vans due to their engine design suffer from air locks in the system, To solve the problem leave engine running until hot make sure you remove radiator cap off the airlock will then bubble to the top make sure you top up with hot water and not cold as this could lead you to cracking the head of the engine block!

(I don't know anything about the sprinter).
However it sounds as though your thermostat is stuck open. Find out where it is and which way the coolant flows. Let the engine run and compare the temps of the hoses either side of the thermostat.
Identical temps suggest the 'stat is no good. Hot one side / cold other suggests it is working.
Turn off the heater to allow the engine to warm quicker for your test.
