how can i fix my samsung d500?

i have a samsung d500 and my screen keeps turning into a blank white screen

Amazing-this worked for me too-the sequence that worked for me was: hit phone,remove sim card,hit again,start up,asks for sim card,replace sim and phone works perfectly :)

i have tried everything that others have suggested, but nothing seems to work. the problem with mine is that it does turn on and i can see that from the light of the buttons but it comes up with a black blank screen? any suggestions people? thanks!

well, this little trick is still working right into 2010. I'm in Thailand so maybe it's humidity (as someone said above) but screen went blank so I given it a few taps and hey presto!! wow it's back

I was on holiday in Goa, India and I thought it might be something to do with the humidity...

After a quick Google to this site and a couple of whacks later it was working fine...

My screen went white a couple of months ago so I couldnt use the phone at all. After reading all these tips I bashed the battery and the phone separately just with my hand and yippee it now works!

i tried all the bashing things too, my hands are red roar BUT what finally wokerd for me was, took the battery off and with the battery side down gave the phone a firm tap on a table, not too hard just firm. What i also did was rub the battery between my hands and warmed it up, like we all do when the remote control isn't working properly!

i don't know which one of these did the trick but my phone is now on, not really working, but i least i can now bluetooth off all my photos n stuff.

i tried hitting hit didnt work i tuck the battery off and undid the 4 little screws and tuck back off and it worked

ok i must have been hiting this dumb phone 4 and hour now.....*sigh* nothing the first time i lightly gave it a smack then put on battery, nothing then the same every time after just geting harder every time, nothing just now my hand hurts thanks any way,

Hehehe thx guys, i was having problems with my d500 with none of the keys working proper (had to bend the screen forward to type or do anything in till i came across this forum now they work all proper again cheers

Got one of these 2nd hand for a friend white screen after 1 day, spotted this thread and it is not teh battery you slam.
I removed battery and slammed phone down so the battery compartment side gets the hit, perfectly working again :)

Same problem with blank/white screen on mine but none of the above worked so i think it's just about had it. As i can't afford to get it fixed or get a new one, it seems that I will be without a mobile for quite some time (unless by some miracle it starts working on its own)

Oh well!! :(

tried the remove sim method - nothing
tried the remove battery and bash it method - nothing
Lost my temper and slamed the phone on the table with battery still on and sim still in - worked perfectly !!!

OMG!!! the battery bashing trick actualy works, my phone was out of use for 3 years lol and finally 3 bashes on the battery and it was magically working, needed this phone for a back up

yes its a tricky one this one

make sure you get the order correct

mine has been doing this for 2 years, and i got the order of things mixed up and lost my phone for 2 weeks whilst on hols with the bl**dy cr*ppy white screen.

today i fixed again by doing this:

take out batter
what the sh*t out of it on a table
punch it squarely in the centre too
Remove the SIM
Place battery back
turn on

i got the welcome screen again

then turn off, replace the sim and pray to buddha the next time u turn it on, it works.

Dont whack the phone if you can help it!
and if you do remove the batterry first, the small plastic hooks are very sh*t and break easily making the battery fall out and short the connections.

to those who solved their problem with wacking and banging, is your D500 still works? or its just a once a week remedy...

2 samsungs D500's openned the one up the connection was not propperly fitted from board to lcd
works fine now..

the other i'd just gave a hard bang works too but only for short while

My Samsung D500 Has been out of action for Months, Nearly a year,
My screen is totally white.
I Tried the punching, whacking and smashing the battery, but still nothing,

Am i doing something wrong or is my phone totally screwed? :P

I had bought this d500 for only 2 years and now it keeps giving me white screen. I think I will try the SIM card removing trick first. If it doesn't work, some karate moves will be coming its way. Lousy samsung brand. I had expected a better quality from such an expensive model.

This thing really works!! just tapped the back of the battery compartment thrice with the base of a marker and voila the D500 springs back to life from the frustrating white screen!

best trick ive heard yet -- worked a treat, amazing but true. my phone was out of action for 1 year - then i lost my new phone, found my old one and tried this bashing against a table move - it worked Great..!!!

My d500 had a white screen too, i could do everything with it but i couldnt see what i was doing, so i found this forum and tried the remedy's an whadda you know?

two straight jabs with the knuckels and it's wroking,

Great Shizzle, punched it then smashed it on the side of a tool box didnt work.... grrrrr! then thought hey may as well throw in the air with the batt off and sim out and let it hit the deck!

HI EVERYONE,

I DROPED MY D500 THE OTHER DAY AND FROM THEN ON IT WILL USE A FULL BATT IN 24 HOURS WITHOUT USING IT, I HAVE REPLACED THE BATT AND IT DOES THE SAME.
CAN ANYONE HELP

My D500 has been broken for a while and I slammed it on the table quite a lot and after that it always worked for a couple of hours before it went to worse.

I had given up on the phone but yesterday I read the 'knuckle-to-battery' advice and it's working perfectly again.

And to think my phone company wanted to charge me $105 (!!) for repairing it.

My D500 recently loaded up with a blank white screen. It took several tries but finally a good firm knuckle punch square in the center of the battery got it going again. Violence always solves technological issues. Cheers guys, you have been a great help.

if you have a black or white screen i have followed someone else advice and it worked give its a wack on the table on the battery side and it should work mine did

Tapping and wacking worked for me!! never had the black screen, white yes. time will tell if this is a permanent fix or a once weekly needed trick, cheers guys.

Hi, i hav the same problem, i managed to get my phone to turn on to the main screen, but the key pad does not work. I get the white screen too when i try to turn it on and it then works when i charge it up. But does anyone know what could be wrong with my key pad? cheers

gooshhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!....the punch thing worked for me too lol.. its not funnnt .. it really works.. wow.. amazing... what i did is i just removed my battery and punched the batery area with two finger 2, 3 times and then power on the fone.. there was some flicering image ..with no colors but it was showing something in lines.. then i did a full reset ..using *2767*3855# and my fone restarted after one minute . wow thing is that it was working fine.. damnnnnnn :P

When my screen turned to blank/white, I tried both hitting the back of the battery, and removing the sim card and replacing it - neither worked. I was about to give up, and for some reason I decided to charge the phone via PC USB connector...... phone returned to normal. Crazy Samsungs

Simple, so simple it's stupid. I read this somewhere but cannot remember where. You hold your samsung in the preferred hand, and hit it hard underneath on the battery with the heel of your palm ( not a Bruce Lee punch but a firm hard hit). It fixed mine. I know this sounds REALLY stupid but it REALLY worked for mine. Now it's working fine. I think there's some technical explanation about the screen ribbon but it works

Hi Marc,

I had just this problem tonight.

Took off my battery and replaced it = nothing. Still white screen.

Took off battery and removed SIM. Restarted without SIM. back to normal!

So just reboot your phone without SIM then replace SIM again and it should be OK.

I think it is related to security locked status.
