Bosch Washing Machine WFB4000?

Bosch Washing Machine WFB4000 - works on all program mes but the porthole door cannot be opened.

Is there an electrical interlock on the door release button or is it more likely to be a mechanical fault?

I replaced the door hinges two years ago when the door would not open properly as it had dropped.
