This model machine has a timer which often developes those same symptoms. Only solution is to have a new timer fitted but it is not cheap repair.

call or get online at sears.com they can sell you the new switch.it sounds like the switch is out. You have to unscrew the the front and take the top off where your turn dials are.put the new switch back in the same way it came out.This can be a little tough but you will save yourself a lot of cash plus its only a few screws.Before you call sears make sure you have the part number. hope this helped
