How can I fix my Hotpoint WMA 34?

My Hotpoint WMA34 will start with the programme set normally (ie fill or drain water) but then it won't continue onto the next stage of the programme set which is normally when the drum should start to turn to wash or spin. The machine sounds as though its trying to move onto the next stage of the programme but the drum isn't moving.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi,
I have the same problem, I had a service repair done (From Hotpoint) to the machine but when it came to put it back together and test it this fault uccured and i was totld that the motor had gone even though it was ok before they touch it (as they tested the machine for other faults prior to repair).
I hope this sheds some light on the matter for you...
