i take it you have a surround sound system seperate from your tv? you will need a digital optical lead from your tv or cable/sky box to your surround sound box. the lead is availible from most tv places. no more than £5. it fits in a small hole which usually has little doors on and a red light inside hole.(on tv/sky/cable box and surround box) cant believe they dont supply one with surround sound.they didint with mine either.
