like many modern umbrellas an ikea (karlso) decided to give up the unequaled struggle and a sliding pivot snapped. any idea on where you can get spare parts for these monster.

Hi there. I just fixed mine: Removed the cloth (the top plastic cover can just be screwed off), then removed the second plastic covering unscrewing a simple screw. Then I was able to reach for the string. Tied it to a new lace where it was broken, slid the lace through the pipe and voilà! Hope you can fix yours. They make it way too cheap for all the people to just buy a new one. Fixing makes you proud though!
