the engine running to slow with black smoke?

i have classic 35 however it starts ok but the engine rpm not right there is black smoke coming out if i take the plug out it is well carbonated briggs & stratton model m354op

Try the air filter. Run it without the air filter in to se if it improves.
If it does then get a new air filter.
