It depends on height of bamboo shade and the number of pulley. If your's are like mine then youo should have two pulley. When looking at the shade the pulley on the left has only one wheel and the one on the right has two wheels.
You need one piece of the rope. With your bamboo shades hanging down the rope should be 5 times the height of the shade, this gives you extra for the oop's. OK lets tried to restring it. before buying the rope buy a ball of string to pratice the restringing.
1st cut the string to the proper lenght.
2nd one end of the string goes through one (left) wheel on the right pully, then the other end of the string goes through the other (Right) wheel on the right pulley.
3rd Take the end of the string that is on the left wheel of the right pulley and put it through the left pulley. You will need enought string to run down the frount of the shade and then up the back to the top of the shade. Tie of the end so the string is line up with the left pulley. That secures the left side of the shade.
4th Take the end of the string from the right pulley, right wheel and string the end to the bottom of the shade, then to the tape of shade inline with the pulley on the right side. Both the left and right side of the shade are now secure and you should have a loop of about 12 inches hanging from the right pulley. Reason for using a ball of sting first.
5th You should be able to pull on the loop on the right pulley and shade should start rooling up.
Be aware this is for bamboo match stick blinds see them at the bottom of the page http://www.bctropicalshells.com/buri/buri9.htm.
I am surprised no one gave you the answer. No sure where you get the rope and pulleys since they should match shades. Have fun it is easy!
