How can I fix a broken "Rib" on my Wellington Table Umbrella?

Re: Wellington Table Umbrella, With very little money to spend on an umbrella I was fortunate to find a Wellington at Goodwill Industries, for a reduced price in great condition "as is". The as is problem and the full question is one of the "ribs" is broken and I want to know if sodered, will it remain flexible enough to use the crank to open and close? The item# 009 00 2157, Wellington Table Umbrella. Also, can the rib be replaced altogether?
