how to fix idler pully 42" 17HP MTD lawn Tractor ?

The bolt that holds the ilder pully on just rotates, where is the nut that holds the idler pully located???
There is no access to the nut from the top of the unit.
Do you have to take the whole mlawn tractor apart??
