The battery is located behind a lid in the floor panel, where your feet are positioned when your riding the ped. A Phillips screw holds the lid in place.
The chances are that you need a new battery as the bike's alternator should have kept it charged if it was any good. If you do need a new battery then make sure you have the right level of acid in it & fully charged before you install it.
