Why is the water cold?

I have replaced the element, but the dishwasher is still running cold. Could a fuse have blown?

No. Why did you replace the element? Where you just taking a stab in the dark & thinking that must be the reason without testing it first or was there definitely something obviously wrong with the element? Like a hole blown in it for example. Also, what make & model number is it?
