Mend John Deere 212 Pto Mowing Mower

How do I adjust the PTO?

Sometimes when I engage the PTO lever on my John Deere 212, nothing happens. Recently when mowing the mower stopped a couple of times. I was able to turn the PTO off and back on again the mower started. Is there an adjustment for this?
