1998 2.5 dti 4x4 mazda drifter ?

I replaced my engin myself a month ago, and notised a small leak on the diesel pump. It is very difficult to start if standing for a few hours. Smokes black and performance is down. Should i take it for callibration and injectors. And is it bad for the engin.
