How can I fix damaged finish to my dining room table?

I put a towel down on my dining room table and then ironed on top of it. It left the imprint of the fabric fibers in the finish. Is there a way to fix this area without refinishing the whole table. It has a dark cherry brown stain with a laquer or varnish over it.
