gearbox has been fixed but now engine cuts out after starting?
The gearbox has been repaired but now the engine starts buts cuts out after about a second, why is this? I have been told there is some sort of switch on the back of the gearbox that needs to be reset but i cant find it and dont really know what im looking for, any ideas?

The switch on an auto gearbox would prevent starting and not stop it afterward. If this is a Renault then the immobilizer is on. Blip to lock and unlock start car. Waiting too long will reset immobilizer.

Depends what your vehicle is but it sounds like your crankshaft position sensor may be damaged.
