Mend La-Z-Boy AL723324 Mode Will Back Down

La-Z-Boy recliner locks in an upright mode and will not come back down. ?

This chair footrest repeatedly will lock in about 1/2 way to full extension that can sometimes be corrected by forcefully pulling on the handle to bring it to full extention. Then it will come down normally. Now it will not move to full extension no matter how I try!

Purchased in January of 2004. The ID numbers are 010561 Branson Leather Recliner AL723324.
Can you advise please?

There is a dented piece of metal behind the piece that cover the part that extends. It worned out the dents. I called the Lazy boy people and they changed it ----for a price. Now, for the second time that happens i am looking on the Internet. so far with not luck. Sorry for my bad English. If you find the part. Can you let me know were? Thanks. Daniel
